Not that I advocate for combustion engines - far from it.

I just want #FuelCells to finally steamroll #LithiumBatteries because refueling #Methanol is faster than any charging could ever be due to #EnergyDensity and #Physics...

Also #FuelCell solves the #RangeProblem or rather " #RangeFear" elegantly with existing (or at least trivially convertible) infrastructure, as it's way faster and cheaper to clean a fuel storage tank and pump and converting it to IPCA 99,9% Methanol, which whilst toxic upon ingestion is abundant in nature to the point that unlike #gasoline it's naturally being decomposed by bacteria and fungi.

Instead of displays of #hyperconsumerism we need should demand smaller and more efficient like the #VW #XL1 (or rather #1L / #L1 but without #enshittification into a " #GermanEngineering #Shitpost" ...

Cuz that's what happens when someone decided to go completely bonkers in terms of high-end...

Affordable #PersonalLightVehicles are the way of the future.

That being said, that efficiency is beatable if we - like #Volkswagen - stretch the rules and don't go by EC Vehicle Class M1, but #L5e or even #L2e, because then a lot of mandatory stuff just falls away and the small power envelope of 4-15kW [on the wheels ] is not that little if we look at #Diesel and espechally #electric powertrains, as for anything besides long distrance & highway use, low-speed acceleration and deceleration is more relevant and that is dependent on #torque (and tire grip).

Which is why #Bonn has a shitton of #HybridCars for #Taxis because when the average trip is less than 10km and the average speed below 30km/h (with top speeds rarely reaching 50), it's more important to safely and quickly advere to traffic lights and -flow than "make speed indicator go brr!"...

I guess my #pragmatism is alienating to #Neurotypicals who tend to use a #car not as a mere #tool but as a "projection area" for their personality and status.

Which in my eyes is more of a display of "fragile ego" (espechally #FragileMasculinity) than actually beneficial.
