If #UCLA accedes to the demand, it would be the largest payout—by far—of any university that has so far reached a deal with Trump. #Columbia agreed to pay $221M in connection with its settlement, & Brown pledged to spend $50M with state work force programs.

The University of California’s president, James B. Milliken, said in a statement on Friday that the university had “just received a document from the Department of Justice & is reviewing it.”
He added, “As a public university, we are stewards of taxpayer resources, & a payment of this scale would completely devastate our country’s greatest public university system as well as inflict great harm on our students & all Californians.”

The move means that #transgender#ServiceMembers will now be faced with the choice of either taking a lump-sum [meager] separation payment offered to JUNIOR troops [regardless of their actual status] or be removed from the service.
An #AirForce [#USAF]spox told AP that “although service members with 15 to 18 years of HONORABLE service were permitted to apply for an exception to policy, none of the exceptions to policy were approved.”
