Keir, you daft tosser: if people are working illegally, YOU’RE NOT GOING TO KNOW. Your DigitalID scheme won’t tell you who doesn’t have a DigitalID, but is working regardless. As long employers will pay people cash-in-hand without making the existing mandatory checks, which are not onerous, there will be “illegal working”.

There isn't anything basic digital identification can do that we aren't already doing. It wouldn't be worth the extreme cost unless they plan to 'develop' it to have all your data.
Can you imagine turning up at A&E after a crash & not getting treatment before you paid as you can't show your digital id because your phone was destroyed in the crash?

Notorious poor judgement, he has to go. The only way he is uniting the country is against his endless bollocks.
Today it's a mandatory digital ID card to prove you have the right to work but in the future you might have to use it to access the NHS, to rent or buy a home, or to access benefits.
