Angela Denker is a Lutheran minister in Minnesota. Until she wrote an op-ed piece following Charlie Kirk's death that Minneapolis Star Tribune refused to publish, she was on contract to write for that outlet.

In its op-ed section commenting on Kirk's murder, the Star Tribune published editorials by three white men, all of them with centrist or conservative slants.

A few days after this, Star Tribune informed Angela Denker that they weren't renewing her contract. Three days ago, she shared the editorial that Star Tribune refused to publish. It speaks truth many of us, including media outlets, do not want spoken.

Denker says,

"Among others, Kirk was the progenitor of a new sort of young, white, male conservative.

"He loved snark and sh*t-posting. He laughed in the face of cruelty, violence, and hate. On Turning Point’s website advertising the speaking tour during which Kirk was shot, he’s wearing a black shirt with white letters that reads: 'Not Illegal.'

Kirk made it acceptable and maybe even cool to be an asshole."

Christianity in the US is being rebranded now in a way that is deeply perverse, distorted, downright evil. And many of those pushing for the rebranding have no stake at all in Christianity, but want to use Christianity as a convenient tool to plant fascism firmly in our midst.
