I wonder what happens if several algorithms give a different prediction. Will they go with the majority and hide the minority report? (As usual, someone saw this coming a few decades ago... 😬)

@benroyce @RenkeSiems oh joy! What is this, the plot of "Revenge of the Nazis"? Thiel is one of the most despicable human beings on the whole planet.
In short: #Russia and #China may be a smaller problem.

@Justbeep @benroyce @paraw Not exactly, I would say. It's "Autocracy Inc.", as @anneapplebaum named it: a network of like-minded strongmen (more or less strong). But yes, seen from Germany, Thiel feels like a part of our history.
Die Spannweite der auszuwertenden Quellen reicht dabei von Social Media und Open Source Intelligence ( #OSINT) allgemein zu Datenbanken wie #Accurint und #CLEAR, die u.a. liefern, wer wo bei einem Stromversorger gemeldet und damit genau zu orten ist.
Accurint ist von LexisNexis (Schwesterfirma von #Elsevier im #RELX-Konzern), CLEAR von Thomson Reuters. Altgediente Wissenschafts-Dienstleister hängen also mit drin im autoritären Umbau der #USA und der angewandten Menschenjagd.
Nachtrag: Der CEO von LexisNexis, Haywood Talcove, war im Frühjahr schon ein Fan von #DOGE und schlug vor, dass man dies bei allen Bundesstaaten auch machen müsse.
Unterdessen werden in der Wissenschaft die Verträge mit diesen Firmen, die via #datatracking auch über Wissenschaftler*innen Unmengen an Daten abschöpfen, immer weitergeführt. Manche Elsevier-Fans werden es wohl erst begreifen, wenn sie zum Kongress wollen und statt dessen in #AlligatorAlcatraz sitzen.
