Dear Foreign Secretary,
Re: Constituents Detained Following Global Sumud Flotilla Interception
I wrote to you about the Flotilla recently but further to that letter I now write with even
more urgency, specifically about my constituents who have been detained following
interceptions by the Israeli military:
3 October 2025
This operation comes amid credible reports of an Israeli aid blockade on Gaza, contributing
to severe food insecurity and crisis conditions.
These individuals, like many others aboard humanitarian missions, were acting non-violently
to deliver lifesaving assistance. Their families and the public demand assurance of their
safety and the full diplomatic support of the United Kingdom government.
Please confirm what steps the Foreign Office is taking to:
Ensure their humane treatment and wellbeing
 Facilitate consular access and monitoring
โ€ข Secure their prompt release and safe return
Given the gravity of the situation and its implications under international law, I would be
grateful for your timely response.
Yours sincerely
