Hey, does anyone have links to a summary list for moderation features that need to be added/fixed on Mastodon?
So far I've got keyword flagging so admins are notified immediately if suspect posts appear.
EDIT: Also got reply controls.

Mastodon's moderation could be greatly improved by a system to automatically flag posts containing certain words, phrases or links.
It would allow admins to instantly see problematic content (abuse, spam, etc) without having to wait for reports from users. It doesn't have to automatically take action, just flag it.
There's an existing issue in Mastodon's Github. If you are comfortable using Github, give it a thumbs up if you want this feature: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/31182

If you run a Mastodon server, you might want to switch on "secure mode" also known as "authorized fetch":
When it's active, it makes your defederations more effective by preventing blocked servers from accessing your server's posts.
There's a good unofficial article describing what it does at https://hub.sunny.garden/2023/06/28/what-does-authorized_fetch-actually-do
It used to have a reputation for breaking compatibility, but I've been using it for several years and haven't encountered any problems.

@ruud Please check the site #pubeurope.com . I have no hint who is behind them but they launch dozens of fake accounts using state or city names and are flooding the fediverse with „news“ , often referring to Russia, Putin and the Kremlin. Here is e.g. a comment of @christoph@fedihum.org : „Does anybody know more about #EuropeSays ?
Their account is https://pubeurope.com/@europesays ,but the sources, curation policy, ownership, location, people behind it etc. are not noted anywhere on the site.
@ukraine @ruud I was annoyed by "news" from their numerous accounts in my feed and after complaining a follower of mine taught me how to mute their whole instance for my profile. I hope many Mastodon admins will block the instance server-wide and eventually someone will take down this pseudo journalist nonsense.
just a heads up: if you are a #fediverse admin who wants to #fediblock the #bluesky bridge, the domain to block is ap.brid.gy.
web.brid.gy and fed.brid.gy are separate services, unrelated to the bluesky bridge. the first is for bridging RSS feeds and webmentions, and the second is for misc. backend stuff.
