El pájaro, de unos 25 centímetros, está perchando en una rama de un arbusto que apenas tiene algunas hojas. Luce una bonita cresta en el píleo de los mismos colores que el resto del manto y las alas, una mezcla de marrones y grises, que se va aclarando en el con un moteado cada vez más blanco en el mentón, la garganta y el pecho hasta hacerse de color blanco en el vientre hasta el muslo. Las patas son de color rosado, Posee un pico medio, grueso y terminado en punta. Como pertenece al orden de las Passeriformes le hemos denominado pájaro.
