If you are worried about a financial crisis caused by the Artificial Intelligence boom ending, then the key early indicator may not be slowing economic activity, but rather a series of write-downs in corporate accoutres of their capital expenditure on AI... in other words a recognition that it is not going to produce the returns expected.
When that happens, what follows will depend on how market traders ('the market') reads such write-downs.

I understand that your Chicago Schooled brains may find this difficult to understand, as your whole worlds revolve around capitalist economics, but here's a little tip for you, a word in your shell-like ears.
The purpose of the post office is to deliver mail.
It's not supposed to make money! Charges and fees are meant to defray the costs of running it, most of which are gathered through taxes and apportioned through Parliament. This is not rocket science! Not everything has to be financially solvent! The returns from the delivery of mail, especially to rural Canadians, far and away outweigh the cost of service!
I swear to fuck, fiscal conservatives will throw away a $100 to save a dime.

Q. is the next financial crisis approaching?
If so, its likely it will be related to the over-valuing (under-delivery) of any contribution to productivity growth delivered by artificial intelligence.
Share prices are high on the promise of the payback from using AI, while financiers seem to think AI will reduce inflationary pressure with its positive impact on productivity.
But when this fails to materialise, things could go wrong, pretty quickly
