People don't like to type boilerplate, so they build wrappers that encapsulate code at the correct level of abstraction to do things easier. ggplot2 and dplyr are some outstanding examples.
But #LLMs don't care. In fact, the incentive might be the complete opposite: as more code generated with #LLM means companies get to charge for more tokens and they get to say bullshit like "50% of our code is generated with #AI".
I had a similar experience with one of my students in my bioinformatics lecture a few months ago. The task was to plot something (xy-plot). The student approached me, quite proud of her code, and asked my how to improve it. I asked here if it was written with an AI, which she denied initially but later sad that she had some help. This is kind of OK. I showed here that the 17 LOC could be exchanged be a single LOC with > matplot(...). She did not critically question her initial solution.
While working on a grant application response letter, I came across some interesting information about Beauveria bassiana. This fungus naturally occurs in soils worldwide and acts as a parasite on various arthropods, causing white muscardine disease. It belongs to the group of entomopathogenic fungi.
Beauveria bassiana is used/investiaged/considered as a biological insecticide to control several pests, including termites, thrips, whiteflies, aphids, and various beetles.
It's fascinating how nature provides solutions that can benefit both humans and the environment.

Federation on Bonfire openscience.network
Federation on #opensciencenetwork seems to be enabled now. Seems like #bonfire is now a true part of the #fediverse.
Embrace the uncertainty
The #KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) now has its own #Fediverse instance. The KIT is a well known German public research university in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, and a research center of the #Helmholtz Association.

#Zotero is now available for Android.
zotero.org/blog/zotero-for-a...
It seems to work with sign-in only.
Interestingly, one user in the #fediverse ( social.calut.fr/notes/a8mjd8... ) pointed out to use #nextcloud for storing the literature.
Today is a great day as the new Fediverse platform #Bonfire ( indieweb.social/@bonfire/114... ) has started opening its instance openscience.network for testing. The exciting part about this platform is that open tools like #ORCiD and #OpenAlex are already integrated, enhancing the collaborative and open science experience.
We are a network of scientists, developers and organizations building the next generation of digital spaces for open science.
