This a *really* good time to talk to the community groups and organizers you are involved with and urge them to move all their outreach and members over to Mastodon. Help them investigate which host is the best fit, get help with spinning up an instance, hold in person onboarding for people to get an account, get familiar with posting and following.

Get your contacts phone numbers, get emails, at minimum find other ways to connect - don't assume your facebook or bluesky account will be existing or your peeps will be able to talk to each other on those sites in a few weeks.

Because it will be less and less safe to be on corporate social media, particularly if you are in the US. Corporations are folding to fascism without a whimper

A teacher at the 12yo's school who is also a family friend is being targeted by Christo-fascist group Moms For Liberty. They're calling for her dismissal b/c she had the nerve to post about the recent assassination on her private socials.

My wife is attending tonight's school board meeting to show support for our friend, inclusiveness, and free speech.
