doesn't the winner have, like a year, to collect his prize? pretty sure Bob Dylan took his own damn sweet time about collecting his... altho i'm also pretty sure he was never off the grid, just taking his time considering how to respond!
but the whole "where are they? get them on the phone! what!?" is drama and people love drama
my favorite example of this is how when president mckinley was assassinated in buffalo ny, VP teddy roosevelt was alone in the adirondacks communing with nature
so the us govt had no leader
until they found him by firing shotguns in the air
then he and an aid alternated driving an old cart with one horse, nuts through the pitchblack dead of night and pouring rain on unsafe mountain paths
yeah, i just read the link u posted & it was downright silly, "OMG, so-and-so didn't instantly pick up the phone so we had to call his wife blah blah blah"
i mean, seriously??? nobody's dying, there don't need to be any middle of the night phone calls
it's just fake drama
good for that guy if he knew it was coming & said f it, i'm gonna hide up in the mountains & think for a while

near where my mom lives in NJ awhile back there was a scruffy unkempt character in a hood roaming a neighborhood in the rain, peering into houses
so someone called the police
the police picked him up, asked for id
he said he was bob dylan
but the reaction to that was not "yeah right"
the cop was young, no idea who that was, so the reaction was "who?" 😂
anyway they drive him to his tour bus and they got his id
