I fooled myself the other day: Was coding with VSC and "confirmed" a suggestion by the lovely Copilot #AI. Little did I know that, some place else, it was creating a test to check for minutes lasting longer than 59 seconds. (The actual time for 60 seconds would be 1:00 in this particular format I need to parse.)

Of course, we are human and make that sort of error: overlooking something, eagerly confirming something. Not being concentrated on your task is what keeps us busy in the aftermath. We would not have to debug otherwise.

But after a few years of school, we humans know for sure, that we do not need to account for minutes lasting an hour (=3600 seconds)! I am sure our AIs will get there eventually ... 馃檮

screenshot of a unit test code showing the need to test for seconds converted to seconds - actually, this only seems ridiculous. And a test converting a duration of 3600 seconds to 3600 which is ridiculous because the time format would then be 1:00:00.

@rupdecat Let's hope your software doesn't have to account for the occasional leap second. 馃槈

@StarkRG it doesn't have to. Not some kind of infrastructure software. 馃槄
