‘Between 30 July and 7 August 2024, an estimated 29 anti-immigration demonstrations and riots took place across 27 towns and cities in the UK.
Many of these were violent, with participants attacking mosques and hotels housing asylum seekers. Known far-right activists promoted and attended the riots.
1,280 people were arrested for their involvement, with 796 people charged.’

It’s expensive and dangerous reacting to rightwing political violence…while many might argue it’s equally expensive to deal with leftwing Palestine Action protestors I very much doubt whether anywhere near the same number of trained officers or hardware was required to deal with grannies holding placards.
