@QasimRashid while this is true and while we need gun regulation, now isn’t the best time to push for gun regulation during an administration that would be more than happy to take away socialist and liberal guns and let MAGA keep theirs.

@QasimRashid I'd agree that the lack of regulation for guns is a real problem, but in this case, I'd have some doubts about "unhinged white supremacy" as a contributing factor given that the shooting occurred at a Mormon church, and the national membership (according to a wikipedia article) is 86% white and 74% Republican.

@QasimRashid - well, in fairness, there’s a lot of wacko beliefs and hatred being indoctrinated into people under the guise of religion and a god that causes people to think this sort of thing is justified. The rampant and unjustified availability of firearms just adds a vehicle to dispense their training.
