18 months is a long time to be out of work. And how do they just magic up a "paid work placement" anyway?
Or is that why they have to wait so long, because they know that they can't magic one up for more than a handful of people?
Either way, not sure it sounds actually useful.

I hope the Greens push for it instead, it's the sort of 'revolutionary' (but actually common sense) sort of thing we want to see.
@Lazarou I think they might. It's in their 2024 manifesto as something to do "in the long term".
Mind you, no chance that the media would ever report on it if they did
