@DemocracyMattersALot Every time the UN is mentioned on social media, a troll pops up saying "The UN is a joke" . That is missing the point on so many levels, but I've never bothered answering those guys. (Always guys) . I've been thinking, trying to formulate a short answer that gets to the heart of the matter, but I'm not getting anywhere. My best effort is: "The UN is what the member states, the countries of the world, make it. One of those states is the USA." I'm not happy with that. Help ?
@hakona @DemocracyMattersALot It has become obvious, in so many ways, that history has not been taught in schools for a long time. If one doesn’t know history, it’s easier to be manipulated.
I actually think your response is pretty good!
We have very few shared forums where nations can align and support each other--and align against evil. They're far from perfect, but there are no alternatives except isolation.
Also, I wouldn't waste time on trolls. You won't convince them, especially if their goal is to sow distrust. If any response is necessary, keep it short and sweet, like yours!
