I'd also like to sidebar that the invasion phase is the *easy* part of a war, and that the occupation phase is by far the harder viz. Invasion of Russia by Germany, Vietnam by America, Afghanistan by Russia, Afghanistan by America, etc.

Russia is years into this, has expended over a million soldiers, blown the bulk of materiel stockpiled since WW2, and have lost control of the Black Sea, and are still nowhere near the end of the invasion phase

@benroyce Just before winter too. Although the predominant heating source in Russia might be natural gas powered central distribution hot water or steam in the cities, I’d bet smaller cities and towns are dependent on heating oil, the other product of those refineries, which is usually common with motor diesel fuel. So hit those refineries hard now while they’re trying to build up stockpiles for winter and fill the big storage tanks aka big fat targets.
