@SallyStrange 2/2 Unfortunately, neither the Guardian nor Quartz (referring to the former) have investigated whether Musk has fulfilled his duty to reforest and to what extent. The latest figures from the state are out of date.
The count mostly in hectar: for 173 ha of clearcut he must reforest 294 ha. The company areal has 300 ha according to Wikipedia.
@jramskov Of course, we have climate protests in Germany and most of the protesters glue themselves on the roads and protest against fossil fuels!
The protests against Tesla must be seen in a differentiated way: Not all of them were directed against environmental offences, but rather against Musk as a person. For example, left-wing radicals made sabotage on the electric grid. And a second problem: the German government subsidised the plant at this location from the outset
@jramskov but the residents in the surrounding area protested. Other protests were made because of working conditions, or threats of job redundancies. It's a personal problem: Musk thinks he can do anything he wants, he constantly overturns his own plans and is dictator-like. And that just doesn't work in the EU.
*AND* he caused environmental problems. ed: EV production is not harmless!
