I feel the simplest at most straightforward way to understand the difference between #bkuesky and #fediverse is to do the most obvious thing and follow the money, the closest fediverse has to an authority is a non profit foundation that maintains the protocol and the mastodon.social instances while bluesky has tecnofascist VCs (oxymoron) with undisclosed power over the most important part of the network

Today Mastodon is taking another step towards its founding ideals: independence and non-profit ownership. We're transferring ownership of key assets to a new, European not-for-profit entity, ensuring our mission remains true to a decentralized social web, not corporate control.
