In Hegseth’s and Trumps speeches yesterday, they chastised the military brass for following the law and not doing enough criming. And said that that had changed now, and they were about to give a bunch of illegal and unconstitutional orders that the brass were gonna be expected to obey. And if they didn’t want to crime then they had better resign.
Today, ICE has got on board with the new United Crime Syndicate of America and decided to go “all crime all the time.” (See linked article for more on that
The United States has been taken over by a criminal conspiracy led by a convicted felon and his crime gang. The remains of the constitution are smoldering on the floor. They may not be the most capable of crooks, but they are the most simplistic evil personified. And they have the power of the oligarchs behind them.
Who is going to lie down and let them destroy our republic? They have made it clear that they hold the constitution and laws in disdain. Something for weak people.
They can only succeed if we allow them to frighten us into silence, or isolation. I have said this before, and I will keep saying it every chance I get: If everyone is afraid of speaking up because they may be disappeared, then they have already won, and we are lost.
Speak your heart! Don’t be silenced. When the rule of law has failed, all that is left is the rule of humanity. The power literally of the people. Whether in the former USA or in Europe and the UK, who are facing fascistbtakeovers of their own, those of us alive today are the ones to whom it falls to fight a new fascism supported by the invisible hand of the ultra wealthy families.
We did not choose to be the people alive when this time arrived. But we are. We can choose to run or hide, to collaborate, to toe the line and comply in advance, to grumble, or to stand up and say, “Not on our watch! We will not stand by and let our hard-earned freedoms and opportunities taken away from us.” But be sure that it is a choice every one of us alive must make today. Trying to avoid or defer the choice is a choice in itself. It is the decision to be silent and to acquiesce. Some people will need to do that, and I have no judgement. But if you want to protect not just yourself and your loved ones, but the entire concept of a nation of laws, of the power of people, then speak up for the values that matter to you.
Please. Let’s not let them take away the freedoms we fought so hard for in the first place.
