The annual program was set up in 1966 to foster American #fiction, #nonfiction & #poetry. The latest iteration of the fellowship offered fiction & creative non-fiction #writers a $50k #grant. Applications were due in March & notifications were to go out in Dec. But last week, notices were sent to applicants stating: "The #NEA has cancelled the FY 2026 #CreativeWriting Fellowships program."
The email…states that the NEA is canceling grants that exist outside of the #Trump admin's priorities.
