🇩🇰 During the drone incidents near Denmark, a Russian landing ship was spotted, Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet reports. Using helicopter footage, journalists recorded the Russian vessel Aleksandr Shabalin about 12 km off the coast of the Danish island of Langeland. Because its tracking system was switched off, the ship did not appear in maritime monitoring systems. According to the outlet, the Aleksandr Shabalin is based in Russia’s Kaliningrad region and had been near Denmark for the past several days — the same period when Danish airports were twice shut down after drones were sighted in the country’s airspace. The distance from the island to the drone-affected sites ranges from 70 to 270 km. Journalists suggest the Russian ship may have been serving as a drone base.
