Do we think the football club is genuinely concerned about conservation or wants the land for it's own property development?

"Spurs claimed the council failed to lawfully assess the impact of development on the North Tottenham Conservation Area, as reported by the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS). This includes sites where the club has its own housebuilding plans, known as the Goods Yard and The Depot.

Several disaster-assistance groups, #FEMA employees & #emergency management experts said the new requirements in the dept’s fiscal 2025 #aid contracts would make it harder for #nonprofits to help the most vulnerable Americans in the aftermath of a #disaster. Some members of the national volunteer disaster group network also questioned whether the new requirements are #constitutional & point out that they seem to violate local & state laws that prevent asking about a person’s #immigration status.

By accepting the #federal #grants & awards, the new documents state, volunteer organizations that help after #disasters must agree to not “operate any program that benefits illegal immigrants or incentivizes illegal #immigration.”
That could put groups that provide #food, #housing, #MentalHealth support & other assistance in disaster-stricken #states in the position of having to verify #aid recipients #legal status before providing assistance, experts said.

More recently, #JBPritzker welcomed #Texas#Democrats who fled the TX statehouse to delay #Republicans’ partisan redrawing of the state’s congressional districts at Trump’s request.

In #Chicago Monday, Pritzker & Johnson emphasized that the #Trump admin had not reached out about its plans…. Trump acknowledged he hadn’t talked to #Illinois or #Maryland ofcls & at one point Monday said he might not send #troops unless Pritzker asked.

#JBPritzker aides agreed #Democrats have a chance to emphasize public safety policy choices.

A litany of speakers in #Chicago cited drops–some of them considerable–in violent #crime & property crimes in the city. They also highlighted the hundreds of millions of dollars in #Trump admin cuts in federal support for #law enforcement, #housing & other programs that Johnson called “proven solutions to crime & violence reduction.”

“We cannot incarcerate our way out of violence,” the mayor said.
