Current pet peeve is I am hearing all sorts of media and influencers referring to the US department of defence as the department of war now.
Why are you obeying in advance? This change in ideological status from defence to offence is offensive AND it is not yet official. So why comply with what isn’t and should not be before it is and you must?

It’s not even truth. You become a propaganda tool. It’s like what he did with the Gulf of Mexico.
