hate American cop procedural, law & order and all that #copaganda yet am kinda obsessed with british crime mysteries. Sherlock Holmes is my first love, but my most recent obsession is Father Brown 鈥昩ased on the character created by GK Chesterton, who was a character by himself.
been wondering why. why do i hate gringo cop shows but not brit crime mysteries? cuz though Miss Marple, Poirot, Father Brown, even Sherlock aren鈥檛 cops by employment, they鈥檙e still cops. or am i wrong?
Prime Suspect, Midsome Murders, Lewis, Endeavor, the list goes on.
I really enjoy the crossover, where you see the same actor showing up in different shows and different roles.
And of course, The Avengers, but they鈥檙e in a different bucket.

that 2nd season with Diana Rigg, is what cued me into rewatching all brit mystery shows with antifa monocles. it鈥檚 been a revelation.
reckoned this is the main hook for me: they show crime as a consequence of capitalism gone amok. AND THEY SAY SO. USA has never had a show that addressed the fascist enemy within without hiding them behind rat-eating space lizards.
in brit tv, they call them fascists & kick their asses.
