much of the turf grab and overreach after 9/11, patriot act, etc. has emboldened budding fascists. just say "fighting terrorism" and you get flooded with money and resources like VCs throwing money at AI.

instead, we have enabled a gestapo/SS in our own borders with the terrorists being federal employees.

we shouldn't just be remembering what ICE is doing if/when we get past this. we need to abolish ICE and do a serious IG investigation into all of DHS/CBP/FBI.
