Any #ActuallyAutistic folks out there with a shit memory?

As a late-diagnosed #AuDHD-er I have huge imposter syndrome about the “special interest” part.

For years I convinced myself I wasn’t autistic because I didn’t have one. Turns out I had MANY. And they change and rotate.

However, my memory is SHIT.
Can I info-dump? Depending on the day and my level of overwhelm and energy and the person I’m talking to and the alignment of the planets… yes I can. And I will.

But can I also forget every single fact about the thing I’m talking about and seem like someone who hasn’t got a clue? Also yes.

Can I also spend hours, days, weeks engrossed in reading about a New Thing and not retain a single piece of information about that thing when someone asks? Also yes.

I feel like I’m not doing autism right.
