Back on Mastodon again. It’s a vicious circle born of my complicated relationship with social media in general, nothing personal, Fediverse, I swear.
I'm Alger, a philosopher by training, currently working at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center as an established researcher in digital ethics for dual-use technologies, with a particular focus on the defense sector.
Catalan by origin, I keep one foot in Barcelona and the other in the Italian Alps (a long love story). I try to manage my caffeine addiction, but I fail repeatedly. The fault, naturally, lies with my cat.
I'm a voracious reader on an enforced intellectual diet (work… and the cat, again), a frustrated meditation practitioner, and an incurable music lover. #Sukha means pure happiness, and I’ve been chasing it for a while now, so please don’t break my balls.
What am I doing here? Watching, learning, and occasionally sharing verified insights related to my field with Mastodon. I may indulge in a touch of self-promotion (my grandmother still refuses to read my papers), but I’ll also try to share things that are simply pleasant.
