@benroyce so let me get this right: bluesky is decentralised because it is available on different apps and runs on different servers, and willing hobbyists can run their own servers there and build their own apps - BUT all the traffic is still checked, moderated and controlled centrally?

That's not decentralisation, that sounds more like colonialism.

@mastodonmigration @benroyce As an instance owner, is there something proactive I can do about this? E.g. is there some easy way for an admin to see all posts with limited visibility (but not DMs) the instance knows about so that I can screen for bad behaviour? Or would that be too privacy intrusive?

@mastodonmigration @benroyce @reflex @bitsnpieces It is very easy for abusers to spin up new accounts to continue/repeat their abuse. Blocking accounts is a useful tool but insufficient by itself. Blocking all instances where it is "too easy" to spin up new accounts would block a *lot* of the Fediverse.

@benroyce @mousey @reflex @mastodonmigration @bitsnpieces I hear you. I don't do it here but I do feed the trolls on the one forum I post on to see where it all goes.
