According to Linda Prentz-Gunter writing in the Morning Star, Sarah Wilkinson “is arguably Britain’s most dedicated and prolific online chronicler of the plight of Palestinians, posting graphic and horrifying evidence of Israel’s atrocities in Gaza multiple times a day on her social media platforms. But last Thursday at dawn, British counter-terrorism authorities decided to silence her.”
Like Grayzone journalist Richard Medhurst, detained on August 15 at Heathrow Airport, Wilkinson has been released on bail but could face as much as 14 years in jail under the 2000 Terrorism Act.
Craig Murray, in a piece headlined The End of Western Pluralist Democracy, described Sarah Wilkinson’s experience as “scarcely believable. Armed counter-terrorism police wearing balaclavas were used against a peaceful, female journalist. She was manhandled and physically hurt. The ashes in her mother’s funerary urn were desecrated in a ‘search’. ”
In the YouTube video below, Sarah speaks to Crispin Flintoff about the “extraordinarily malicious looting” she experienced. The result has been that she is effectively under house arrest, because, she says, “I’m pro-Palestinian, I’m broadcasting news from Gaza, I’m connected with the people in Gaza. It’s purely to silence journalists, as they did with Richie Medhurst and Craig Murray as well, who are reporting on a genocide.”
