1) Population matters. The largest countries by population are near the top.
2) From the Paper, though its not brought out in a histogram, population of rich people (those with disposable income) in each country matters more - they are the ones travelling.
e.g. I infer that, at 3.6% of 2.9GT, the UK’s outbound tourism amounts to ~140 MT, but that must be just the blue bit, so the grey domestic bit can only be guessed at. It would be better if the grey bit was integrated with both blue and green in a single chart
