@KitsuneVixi

like switzerland? switzerland has stringent regulations about gun ownership, storage, ammo, training, etc. i'd love to be switzerland

nobody says "the problem is gun technology just existing": "the problem is the guns" means this stupid fucking country makes gun ownership and access extremely easy with little regulations, so they are everywhere and any moron or hothead can and does use them for stupid and evil shit

and MAGA assholes do not fucking care how many kids are killed

@KitsuneVixi

"societal problems"

what do you mean by that? mental health? poverty? crime?

many countries have that and not these fucked up american gun deaths

because this stupid fucking country is like "yeah sure, get a gun, no problem" on top of those societal problems

so do not say "societal problems"

that's complete bullshit

@benroyce @KitsuneVixi I mean in a way it *is* about the guns to some small extent. Yes, we absolutely need to have more focus on mental health and etc so people are less inclined to do things, but by giving people super easy access to guns it's made really easy for people to kill others even on a whim.

So I mean, it's both: we need to fix the societal issues first and foremost, but making a tool that only exists for and only is designed for deadly harm easily accessible is also a problem.

@jasonb @benroyce Guns don't kill people and neither do people. Books kill people by making people who read them kill people using guns...both simply being the most useful tool for that end. You may think it's a liberal with a gun that's the scary thing but actually it's the books he's reading.

It's not what comes out of the mouth, but what goes in which defiles a man. Thus the best and brightest do not read but only speak. They'll claim to have read one book but you can tell they didn't.
