Wie verhält sich das eigentlich mit dem oder den "Folgen".
Was wären Social Media ohne Engagement-Symbole.
Ist es menschliche Evolution, Eitelkeit oder Hoffnung.
Gilt der krude Spruch wie z.b. beim Geld "Um so mehr du danach verlangst, um so schwer wird die Befriedigung"

@obrhoff I really think it would be helpful if the signup procedure nudged people into adding a profile picture.

It is impossible to navigate what looks like a herd of elephants.

@randahl @obrhoff I am not really a new user, I just moved my account to mastodon.social. I have a profile picture, but maybe I set this after importing my following list from the old instance.

If you still can‘t see my profile picture, please let me know.

Once this is required, you'll find a ton of bots with AI generated pics.
Improvise, adapt, overcome.
Leave it the way it is and you at least have a chance to detect the bots 😉
