Keir Starmer’s X posts.

This Labour government’s approach to dealing with the threat of Reform is so extremely WRONG and STUPID. So very obviously, maddeningly so. Another awful development in a time of nothing but awful developments.

#UKPolitics

@pvonhellermannn people often make the mistake of thinking centrism is about being moderate, but under neo-liberalism centrism is a political doctrine in and of itself, it prescribes that a party shall have no ideological basis and merely respond to voter demands as a business responds to customer demands. If you're looking for something progressive, look elsewhere
@pvonhellermannn Thought experiment: you are a desperate person trying to get to the UK.

What would be the bigger deterrent to crossing the Channel in a small dinghy?

a) You might drown.
b) You might be deported, inhumanely.

If you did find a way to get to the UK, would you:

a) Report to the authorities to officially claim asylum, trusting the system to be fair and humane.
b) Disappear under the radar to minimize risk of instant inhumane deportation.

@pvonhellermannn It's so bizarre. Starmer has many faults, but he's not an idiot. Surely he must realise that all this stuff just plays into the hands of the #FrogFacedGrifter

And yet he does it anyway. I really don't understand why.

Best guess is that it was a condition of his sponsors in return for letting him be PM for a term. Sounds a bit tinfoil hat, I know, but I honestly can't think of any other explanation that makes even the slightest bit of sense.

@pvonhellermannn he's a muppet. He thinks this is the way to get votes, but the racists aren't gonna vote for Racism Lite when they can vote Frogface and get the full fat variety.

He's chasing after voters for whom he isn't racist enough, thereby pushing away voters who want a progressive party to represent them. So yeah, he's a dumb dumb.
