Benjamin Wittes, who was on the scene watching as the FBI raided John Bolton's house, says this raid was "designed to scare us":
"The message is: You should know that we’re coming for you. And we’ll find whatever it is you may have done."
The behavior he saw the FBI exhibit in the raid was "brutish and ugly and unlike what I’m used to seeing from the modern bureau."
